If you’re thinking of moving to New Harmony, here’s what you can expect when building a dream home – and life – there.

Living In New Harmony, Utah

New Harmony is a quiet town with very little to distract you from life’s most basic, simple pleasures. It’s a place to escape the hustle and bustle – the closest place to grab a few necessities is a gas station that’s 5 miles from town. While people move to New Harmony for the scenery, simplicity, and community, many residents may find their way to nearby cities during the day for work and play, returning to their protected, peaceful, and comfortable environment time and time again. Here’s what you can expect when your move into the enchanting little town of New Harmony.

Community

Because it’s such a small town, New Harmony has a strong, close-knit community, where neighbors help neighbors. It’s not uncommon for neighbors to knock and each other’s doors in search of a cup of milk or some other ingredient they’ve run out of. You’ll gain a whole new extended family when you move to New Harmony, where everyone knows one another and often gather at the local post office to catch up on each other’s lives.

Natural Surroundings and Friendly Wildlife

Thousands of cedar trees are sprinkled about New Harmony, which features stunning views of the Pine Valley Mountain and the Kolob Canyons in Zion National Park. Farmlands fill the town, so cattle and horses are a common site – but that’s not the only wildlife you’ll see. According to the city, deer and other wildlife feel so comfortable around residents, that they’ll often be seen roaming the streets most evenings.

Fall Celebrations

When the air turns crisp, residents of New Harmony and surrounding areas know it’s about time for the much-anticipated Apple Festival and Fall Harvest. Happening on the second Saturday of October each year, the fest is an annual fundraiser for the town’s volunteer fire department. The event is free to attend and includes live music, food trucks, games, mechanical bull riding, and fire safety demonstrations throughout the day. And, of course, the Apple Fest wouldn’t be complete without the beloved New Harmony apples.
